You are 70 percent water, it’s hard to believe but it’s true. Our skin, tissue, muscles; well everything about us is made up of water. In fact all life on earth is composed mainly of water.

It doesn’t come as a surprise that this beverage contains many benefits you may not be aware of. So in lieu of national water week, we wanted to share some of our favourite benefits of water.

Weight loss
Looking to lose a few kgs, try drinking water regularly. Water assists with boosting your metabolism, and with proper exercise you have the perfect weight loss combo. It also assists with reducing the amount of water your body retains. Water retention is often the cause of unexplained weight gain.

Digestion
It may be tasteless, but all of those alternative drinks can have a bad long term effect on your body- especially your digestive tract. For a smooth flowing digestive system, switch from fizzy drinks to a little H2O.

Anti-wrinkle
Water helps by keeping the skin hydrated. Hydrated skin cells have a firmer and softer look and feel. In addition this phenomenal drink helps release toxins that could cause clogged pores and acne.

Physical Performance
Whether you prefer a spinning class at the gym, or a run around the block every evening, drinking a little water can help prevent dehydration, and that tiredness you feel from physical exertion.

Brain Function
Not only does it refresh your taste buds, but water is believed to help refresh your thinking. A glass of water can keep the mind alert and sharp. And unlike energy drinks, you won’t experience an energy crash afterwards.

Kidney Function
Your kidneys are like filters that sift out toxins from liquids you consume, and from your blood. Water allows your kidneys to function faster and more efficiently.

According to medical professionals drinking a total of 8 glasses of water a day fulfills the necessary requirement our body demands. So why not join La Vita in drinking more water.
